I can’t relate to your list, but I totally relate to the d-bag with the tiny diamond inside.  I’m the girl that sees it sparkling through all the crap that everyone else sees.  I’m trying to get away from that.. I actually started dating someone really nice that I really like and then I kind of flipped out.  I think I was afraid if I got too close to him he’d dumpe me, as has happened in the past.  Turns out he really liked me back and was hurt when I dumped him.  Sigh.  We’re trying again, but I’m making myself anxious thinking I screwed it up forever..  I hate dating.

Ok, I’ll be the #&@$% for pointing this out.

Yeah, I know, there are plenty of guys who won’t care.  They’re the anti-procreation guys you mentioned in #4.

But the guys who aren’t anti-procreation (i.e., the marrying kind) do care.  Don’t believe me?

Yeah, it sucks, it’s unfair, men suck, blah, blah, blah.  But let me ask you, if the fertility situation were reversed, if a man’s fertility dropped off in his 30s the way a woman’s does, what kind of guys would be sought after for marriage?  Women would have very similar preferences as men.  Admit it.

Now that I’ve harshed everyone’s weekend, let the stones, bricks, and arrows fly.

I am well aware of the fact that I am not girlfriend matertial, but it’s not because of any of these reasons.

@Amy- I don’t think she was equating grief and depression.  Most people grieving the loss of a loved one become depressed
